Biblically Based Coaching Principles for Personal and Professional Growth
Following a successful 30-year career coaching college football, which included coaching one Heisman Trophy winner and stints at such well-known institutions as the University of Notre Dame and Harvard University, I embraced a calling to full-time ministry. Now as an ordained pastor at Pleasant Valley Community Church, I continue to utilize the same coaching principles in this new venue. In my book and through my speaking engagements, I share skills that transfer into practical applications for personal development and professional growth.
"Jay was a member of my first coaching staff at the University of Notre Dame in 1986. Since then I have followed his career as both a college football coach and a pastor. One thing I know is that whatever he's done, he's done it for the right reason. I'm confident you'll benefit from the wisdom he shares."
"When you combine a deep-rooted faith in Jesus Christ with the heart for leadership and loving people - you get Jay Mills. Jay weaves the foundation pieces of Christ centered leadership with coaching expertise that gives a road map to bringing others into that space. His desire to see hearts lead and aligned with Jesus Christ shines through and provides wonderful examples of "Coaching the Game of Life!
“I will always attribute the success I had from the leadership of Coach Mills.”

“A transformational leader”… “a coach and spiritual mentor”
"Jay Mills has the ability to communicate to large crowds and individuals alike. He is always prepared to be at center stage. He has been known to fire up an audience with motivating quotes and keep them engaged with meaningful analogies as well as humor that his listeners can relate to."
